Wutang Tao Yang means the wutang way of the yang - a Taoist master created the form using the Yang Long Form as the base and used it to teach the 5 Elements and 8 Trigrams (directions). WuDang is how it is often spelled because that is how it is pronounced but it is more correct to spell it wutang – it is the name of the Taoist temple that Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon featured. Wutang is a temple system and the foremost aim of practice is the cultivation of the Life-Energy, Mind and Spirit.
