Denise Gooden has been practicing Tai Chi since January 2006. What she found engaging was not only all the benefits of Tai Chi as an exercise but also the transformation and empowerment that learning a martial art afforded. Denise started certification as an instructor in Spring 2009 and instructed classes in 2009.
In April 2014, Denise obtained Fourth level instructor certification (Black Sash) along with a certification in S.T.A.R. & B.E.A.M. program and took on an instructor role again with Topeka Tai Chi.
As an instructor, Denise's intent is to offer opportunities for students to learn Qigong and Tai Chi, to encourage awareness of one's own energy, and to share knowledge on the benefits for the spirit, mind and body.
